Prefer to do và prefer doing

Chúng ta có thể sử dụng “prefer to (do)” và “prefer –ing” để nói về điều mà bạn thích hơn (nói chung).
  • I don’t like living in the city. I prefer to live in the country.
    hay I prefer living in the country.

Ví dụ:

                I prefer     something               to something else.

                I prefer     doing something     to doing something else.

nhưng      I prefer     to do something      rather than (do) something else.


  • I prefer this dress to the dress you were wearing yesterday.
  • I prefer driving to travelling by plane.

nhưng

  • I prefer to drive rather than travel by plane.
  • Mary prefers to live in the country rather than (live) in a city.
