The purpose of the description writing is to describe a person, place or thing in such a way that a picture is formed in the reader’s mind. It does not tell the reader that the flower is beautiful with words. The reader feels like he/ she is a part of the writer’s experience of what is being described.
Đoạn văn miêu tả là đoạn văn được dùng để tả người, địa điểm hoặc sự vật, giúp bạn mường tượng trong đầu một số hình ảnh về những gì đang diễn ra. Nó không nói với người đọc rằng bông hoa đẹp bằng lời nói. Người đọc cảm thấy như họ là một phần trải nghiệm của người viết về những gì đang được mô tả.
Để viết được đoạn văn miêu tả gây ấn tượng chúng ta cần phải sử dụng ngôn ngữ thu hút các giác quan: thị giác, xúc giác, thính giác, khứu giác, vị giác bởi lẽ thông qua các giác quan này mà con người cảm nhận được thế giới xung quanh mình và cũng chính thông qua các giác quan đó mà thế giới được miêu tả một cách sinh động nhất.

Camping outside is my favorite past time. Tall trees surround the sides of my tree fort. Forest sounds sing me to sleep when I stay the night in my favorite place. Occasionally, when the moon is out, I hear the movement of animals in the brush. In a flash, I’m awake and sitting up. When the noises stop, I drift back to sleep. Suddenly, I hear the sound of coyotes who seem to be laughing at me from the hills behind my yard. Laughing coyotes can make anyone’s mind play tricks. Everyone should go camping at least once in their lives.
