Instructions:

- Underline the key ideas in the headings and guess what the headings mean.  Suggested underlining and meanings

i        A solution which is no solution (someone has suggested a solution to the problem which won’t actually solve the problem)

ii        Changing working practices (asking people to work in different ways)

iii        Closing city centres to traffic (not allowing vehicles into the centre of cities)

iv        Making cars more environmentally friendly (cutting pollution from cars)

v        Not doing enough (should be doing more)

vi        Paying to get in (paying money to enter)

vii        A global problem (a problem which affects the whole world)

- Now read the first paragraph and decide the answer (do the same for other paragraphs).

- Remember to underline words in the paragraphs which give you the correct answers.
